If you’re aware of #cupgang and #cupbangers (yes, that’s what they call their fans) then you’ll have some idea of just how bad this video is. For those of you unfamiliar with @cupgang, you’re in for a real treat.

Bangin’ Gears-Episode 1 is painfully bad. Like discarded MADtv sketch bad. It’s as if these guys sat in a room, watched Velocity for 24 hours straight, and then said, “Let’s do that, but dial it up to 11 BRO!”

I’m going to refrain from making any points about the people featured in the show because let’s face it, they’re not any worse than “legitimate” reality tv “stars”. They’re caricatures of human beings on the show, whether they are that way when the cameras are off, who’s to say, butI’m going to go ahead and venture a guess that they’re about 7/10ths as douchey in every day life.

What makes the show so terrible isn’t the people, well no just the people, but the wasted opportunity. They have access to all these insane cars, equipment, and most importantly, money. And what do they do? They go out and make this steaming pile of nuclear dog shit.

Every single garbage reality TV trope is hit in this single episode. Overly dramatic situations, speed ramped shots, quick cuts, spinning camera moves, awful music, and so on, and so forth. All the boxes on the ‘ol shitshow checklist have been ticked, and with delight I’d imagine.

If you can stomach it, watch the full episode so you’re fully aware of the scope of the awfulness. Then, dump a little more fuel on the rage fire burning inside you by checking out the leader of CUP Gang, !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! on Instagram. I’ve been on a drive with this guy before, didn’t know who he was at the time, but I hope to see him again, I’d love to ask him what his dad does.

Buys million dollar car, doesn’t know when to use whether or weather. Nice.

Spoiler alert: he traded his huayra and a few other assets to get that 918 Weissach. This is technically his second 918, as he sold his first one a few months after taking delivery.

Idk, I liked it. Is it ridiculous? Yes. But the production value was pretty damn good and the cars are cool. Is it the best thing since sliced bread? Hell no, but I was entertained.

The production value was par for the course. Oversaturated DSLR shots, some drone footage, some GoPro footage, half decent audio. It’s Real Housewives for the car crowd.
